Does Spain need any introduction? Probably not – after all, there is a reason why this country is one of the top destinations in the whole world. If Spain were to be described in a single sentence, it would be a super-smorgasbord of wonder – no matter where or how you look at it. 

As said before, there is absolutely nothing in this country that is not famous, interesting, or attractive. Spain is practically bursting with tourists at any part of the year, exploring everything it has to offer – from natural scenic beauty, to urban landscapes, and from rustic scene to nightlife. The snow-capped peaks in Pyrenees, the Balearics and the Canary Islands are only a few of the hundreds of natural features. Rustic scenes include secluded fishing villages and the bijou retreats, where tourists can get a glimpse of the local culture. The main, attraction, however, remain the golden beaches, and the sunshine and indulgence it offers.

Those looking for a more people-centric experience will have no dearth of experiences either. Tourists can go for a range of attractions. They can either relax in the resorts of Costa Brava or spend time in leisure in Tenerife. They can also attend and participate in the many famous festivals, such as the Baby Jumping Festival, the Running of the Bulls, and of course, the La Tomatina. Besides the capital of Madrid, there are variety of cities to visit – these include Valencia, Barcelona, Seville and Bilbao. Each of these vibrant cities have their own set of flavors and specialties to offer. For instance, while Madrid is known for its high skyscrapers, Barcelona is known for its art, and more specifically, it sculptures.

Some facts about Spain:

• The world’s first modern novel, Don Quixote, was written here in Spain in 1605 by Miguel de Cervantes. It is regarded as one of the founding pieces of Western literature.
• The country hosts El Gordo, Europe’s biggest national lottery. Held before Christmas, the jackpot for the lottery is worth €720 million.
• The world’s oldest recorded restaurant, Restaurante Botín, is present here. It has been open since as early as 1725.
